Disney Professional Internships

Application Process

Question:  When do you start posting available internships?
Answer:
Positions are continuously posted to fit the needs of the different sites and projects. Longer-term internships are customarily posted three to four months in advance of the start date, but candidates are encouraged to check our site regularly for new openings.

Question:  Are candidates permitted to apply for multiple Disney Professional Internships?
Answer:
We encourage students to apply for their top three positions of interest. Students may apply for more, however we recommend selecting only the internships that most closely match their qualifications and interests. Candidates must meet all minimum requirements for each position at the time of application to be considered.

Question:  When will students hear back about the positions they've applied for?
Answer:
We receive hundreds of Resumes/CVs for each internship that is posted. Due to the high volume of responses, we are only able to contact those applicants we are interested in interviewing. If a student is no longer being considered for a role, they will be notified via e-mail.

Question:  I have already graduated from college. Can I apply for an internship?
Answer:
Disney companies offer programs for recent grads. These programs range from 6 months to 1 year. For more information go to the recent grads section of DisneyCareers.com. Internships are reserved for students enrolled in a college/university.

Question:  I am graduating in May. Can I still apply for an internship?
Answer:
In general, interested candidates are eligible to apply for any Professional Internship as long as they are enrolled in a college or university. However, applicants are encouraged to carefully examine the required qualifications within each posting.

Question:  Are there standard qualifications for internships?
Answer:
Each internship requires that you are at least 18 years of age and are able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Additional requirements are different for each posting. Some require a minimum GPA, grade level completed and/or previous experience on the Disney College Program.

Please reference each individual posting for specific requirements prior to applying.

Question:  Are there different lengths of Disney Professional Internships?
Answer:
Yes, Disney has a variety of programs ranging from four weeks to one year, depending on the project and location. Details for each internship can be found in each individual posting.

Question:  What is the difference between regular Disney Professional Internships and Disney Professional Internships for Disney College Program Alumni Only?
Answer:
Students that participated in the Disney College Program may apply for Alumni-Only Disney Professional Internships. All eligible students, whether Disney College Program alumni or not, may apply for regular Disney Professional Internships.

Question:  Who should I contact with any questions that I may have?
Answer:
Should you have any questions, please contact Disney Professional Internship Recruiting via wdpr.professional.interns@disney.com

Notification Process

Question:  When and how do students find out if they were chosen for a Disney Professional Internship?
Answer:
Once a candidate applies online for a Professional Internship, the application will be reviewed by a selection team. Qualified candidates will be contacted for a phone screen and/or secondary interview.

Once a candidate has submitted his or her application, it can take up to 12 weeks for the team to notify him or her of the final decision. Candidates are generally notified of the status of their application via e-mail.

Working

Question:  Are Disney Professional internships full-time positions?
Answer:
Our Theme Parks and Resorts are open 365 days a year and run operations 24 hours a day. Availability requirements vary by area, but in general Professional Interns are expected to provide full availability during their internship and flexibility in scheduling is a requirement of employment.

Question:  What is appropriate attire for a Disney Professional Internship and are uniforms/costumes provided?
Answer:
Professional Interns work in a variety of roles and locations and attire varies by location. Most interns wear their own professional attire at work, however some positions that include working in themed locations will be provided costumes (uniforms). All Disney cast members are required to comply with "The Disney Look".

Education

Question:  Can Disney Professional Interns receive academic credit for their experience?
Answer:
Some colleges and universities offer credit for Disney Professional Internships. Candidates are advised to work with their school to determine if credit can be awarded.

Future Opportunities

Question:  At the completion of a Disney Professional Internship, can participants apply to extend their programs, or apply for a different Disney College Program or Professional Internship position?
Answer:
Yes, participants may apply for an extension or a second internship experience provided that they do not exceed one consecutive year of College Program and/or Professional Internship positions.

Question:  What are career options upon completion of a Disney Professional Internship?
Answer:
Professional Internships are temporary positions with no guarantee of permanent employment upon completion of the program. Participants are eligible to apply for other roles within the company within four weeks of their program end date. Program participants are encouraged to discuss future career options with their direct leader during their program.

Housing

Question:  Is company-sponsored housing available for interns?
Answer:
A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available for positions near the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida only. Management Interns are not eligible to reside in company-sponsored housing.

Question:  Is transportation provided for interns?
Answer:
No, all Professional Interns are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from work.
