Describe your role at Marvel:
My job is to develop and manage promotional/communication strategies for our print and digital initiatives, while also assisting other divisions with communications needs. I also act as the primary Marvel Publishing contact for all press and PR needs.
What is your proudest moment OR most exciting work project?
The most exciting work project and one I'm most proud of is the promotion of I Am An Avenger #5. This issue featured a short story involving Captain America and suicide prevention—we received tremendous feedback from our fans, expressing how much they enjoyed the story and, in some cases, how it helped them to not take tragic steps. We were able to effectively raise awareness about suicide prevention worldwide and it's very fulfilling to do such good in the course of one's everyday job.
Why do you like working for Marvel?
I enjoy working at Marvel because there is no such thing as a typical day. We're constantly challenged with new and exciting opportunities that need to be executed in innovative ways, which is very intellectually fulfilling.
What has been the most amazing experience or day you've had at Marvel thus far?
The first time I got on stage at Comic Con International in San Diego to moderate a panel I was absolutely awestruck by how many lives we touch with our work every day—I'd been a fan in the audience but never been on that other side. The stories and characters created here every day aren't just entertainment—they're important figures that change the lives of people. Being involved in marketing—letting people know about the great stories our editors and creators work up—is extremely fulfilling when you see how much these comics bring happiness to our fans.
